Pollensa & Port de Pollensa

Pollensa is a large area in the northern part of the Tramuntana region, and the city itself, located five kilometers inland from Port de Pollensa, is one of Mallorca's best preserved cities. It was founded by the Romans and still carries a rich part of its old-world charm with narrow, winding roads, good restaurants and a cozy local market. It's a must-see and must-visit, if you're looking for culture, sports and attractions - in short: Pollensa has gathered much of everything. In addition, you can take a stroll around the steep streets and have a look at the crooked, yellow houses with green window frames - maybe even on the beautiful Road of the Cross, which is the city's pride and joy, leading you directly to a chapel where a statue of Jesus is kept. In the city outskirts, you'll find interior design and decor shops with Mallorquin cotton cloths, antiques and ceramics.

In contrast to Pollensa's old historical district, Port de Pollensa is a favorite among families with children and the more experienced Mallorca traveler. Slow-paced Port de Pollensa is considered one of the island's most beautiful and Spanish seaside resorts. The city centre is well preserved, and efforts have been made to have the hotel complexes melt together with the original architecture. Port de Pollensa is a destination for everyone, offering a variety of international restaurants and shops, a lovely palm-lined promenade and a good nightlife.
