The beach at Alcúdia and Port d'Alcúdia

Alcúdia has been named Mallorca's familiy paradise #1, because - besides the fourteen kilometer long sandy beach, which is very child-friendly - you'll find absolutely everything you need to spend a long and lazy day at the beach: Sun beds and beach umbrellas, water sports, beach bars and lunch restaurants. Along the beach, a car-free beach promenade extends all the way to Port d'Alcúdia. The place has expanded enormously in recent years, making room for large amounts of tourists. However, since the hotels are spread throughout a large flat area, the space available doesn't feel cramped or confined.

In reality, there are three 'different' Alcúdias:

• The original and slightly sleepy town of Alcúdia, located just a few kilometers from the coast.

• Port d'Alcúdia, which is the core of the tourist areas - with shops and nice restaurants on one side of the seafront, and fishing and sailing boats on the other.

• At Port d'Alcúdia, the long beach begins, and alongside it lies the third and most recent part, namely the resort of Playa d'Alcúdia with its multiple hotels, quaint bed and breakfasts and luxury resorts.

Overall evaluation:
The bay of Alcúdia has a beautiful sandy beach, where you'll find many entertainment options, including paragliding, water skiing and jetskis.

Child friendly:
Many people say that it does'nt get any better than the Alcúdia bay beaches. The sand is fine and the water clear.
